Biography
Simona was born in 1971 in Bologna, Italy where she lives, works, and studies. Following the classical high school diploma, obtained in the 1989-90 school year, she started working in the administrative field. At the age of forty-seven, she decided to enroll at the University of Bologna. In the academic year 2019-2020 she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Dams (Drama, Art, and Musical Studies) with a thesis in history of modern art: In small: A Study for a Biographical Dictionary of Miniaturists From the 10th to the 16th Century, Supervisor Prof. Irene Graziani, Co-Supervisor Prof. Vera Fortunati. In collaboration with the Documentation Center for the History of Female Artists in Europe, in the spring of 2021, she gave a lecture called In small: Artists and Miniatures Between the 15th and 16th Centuries as a part of the cycle, The Genius of Women promoted by Prof. Fortunati and Prof. Graziani. In September 2021, she passed the admission test for the Visual Arts master’s program at the University of Bologna, the city where she continues to work, take care of her family, and study.
